What You Need to Know Before You Apply

What is the purpose of this trial?

This trial tests a new tool, the LuminX Probe System, to help identify tooth decay. The goal is to collect data to train smart software for improved detection of dental issues. Individuals with gum health ranging from mild gingivitis (gum inflammation) to severe periodontitis (gum disease) who are not currently participating in another study might be suitable candidates.

As an unphased trial, this study provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative dental technology.

Will I have to stop taking my current medications?

The trial information does not specify whether you need to stop taking your current medications.

What prior data suggests that the LuminX Probe system is safe for intraoral use?

Research has shown that the LuminX Probe System safely detects tooth decay. Studies have not reported any negative effects from its use. The system employs advanced imaging techniques that are non-invasive, meaning they do not harm the body, making it a comfortable option for dental check-ups.

Additionally, the LuminX Probe avoids ionizing radiation, a common concern with other dental imaging methods, making it a safer choice for regular dental visits. Overall, evidence supports that the LuminX Probe System effectively identifies dental issues without causing discomfort or harm to patients.12345

Why are researchers excited about this trial?

Unlike traditional tooth decay treatments that often involve drilling and filling cavities, the LuminX Probe System is unique because it uses advanced imaging technology to detect decay at a much earlier stage. Researchers are excited about this approach because it leverages artificial intelligence to analyze detailed images of the mouth, potentially identifying problem areas before they become severe. This non-invasive method could revolutionize how dentists approach tooth decay, offering a preventative solution rather than reactive treatment.

What evidence suggests that the LuminX Probe system is effective for detecting tooth decay?

Research has shown that the LuminX Probe System uses advanced imaging and artificial intelligence to detect tooth decay and other dental issues, such as plaque and bleeding. This system captures detailed images of the mouth and provides instant feedback, aiding in more accurate diagnoses of dental problems. Studies indicate that the LuminX Probe can automatically record findings, potentially making dental exams faster and more precise. Early evidence suggests that this technology improves the detection of dental issues compared to traditional methods. Overall, the LuminX Probe System appears promising in enhancing dental check-ups with its innovative use of AI and imaging.12678
