Radiation Therapy for Lung Cancer
What You Need to Know Before You Apply
What is the purpose of this trial?
Prospective clinical study designed to evaluate damage to the heart after receiving standard of care chemotherapy and radiation therapy for locally advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC).
Who Is on the Research Team?
Jordan Holmes, MD
Principal Investigator
Indiana University
Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?
This trial is for people with locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who have received standard chemotherapy and radiation. Participants should be able to undergo heart imaging tests. Those with conditions that prevent safe imaging or participation may not be eligible.Inclusion Criteria

Timeline for a Trial Participant
Screening
Participants are screened for eligibility to participate in the trial
Pre-Radiotherapy Assessment
Participants undergo PET/CT 18F-Flurpiridaz Rest/Stress Test to assess myocardial blood flow before radiation therapy
Radiation Therapy
Participants receive standard of care radiation therapy for NSCLC
Post-Radiotherapy Assessment
Participants undergo PET/CT 18F-Flurpiridaz Rest/Stress Test to assess myocardial blood flow 3 months after radiation therapy
Follow-up
Participants are monitored for safety and effectiveness after treatment
What Are the Treatments Tested in This Trial?
Trial Overview
The study uses PET/CT scans with a tracer called 18F-Flurpiridaz and coronary CT angiography (CCTA) to check for heart damage after cancer treatment. It aims to find out how often and how much the heart is affected by these therapies.
