What is the purpose of this trial?
The study will conduct a laboratory study designed to evaluate the rewarding and addictive properties of hyper-palatable foods (HPF), using potato chips as the food stimulus/sample HPF.
Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?
This trial is for adults interested in participating in a study about how certain snack foods, like potato chips, may have addictive qualities. People with food allergies or medical conditions that could be affected by eating these foods likely cannot join.Inclusion Criteria

Screening
Participants are screened for eligibility to participate in the trial
Treatment
Participants undergo four study sessions to evaluate the rewarding and addictive properties of hyper-palatable foods using potato chips as the stimulus.
Follow-up
Participants are monitored for subjective effects and behavioral responses to food stimuli after the treatment sessions.
What Are the Treatments Tested in This Trial?
Trial Overview
The study compares different types of snack chips: regular hyper-palatable chips, versions without sodium or fat, and a non-addictive vegetable chip (jicama) to see which are most rewarding or potentially addictive.

Treatment groups
Experimental Treatment
Participants receive Negative Control chip at Visit 1, Full Dose HPF chip at Visit 2, Modified No Fat chip at Visit 3, and Modified No Salt chip at Visit 4.
Participants receive Modified No Salt chip at Visit 1, Negative Control chip at Visit 2, Full Dose HPF chip at Visit 3, and Modified No Fat chip at Visit 4.
Participants receive Modified Dose- No Fat chip at Visit 1, Modified Dose- No Sodium chip at Visit 2, Negative Control chip at Visit 3, and Full Dose HPF chip at Visit 4.
Participants receive Full Dose HPF chip at Visit 1, Modified Dose- No Fat chip at Visit 2, Modified Dose- No Sodium chip at Visit 3, and Negative Control chip at Visit 4.
