Contact Lenses for Visual Acuity

This trial tests how well different types of contact lenses improve clarity, particularly with varying levels of visual blur. The study compares two types of ACUVUE® OASYS lenses: the ACUVUE® OASYS 1-Day Sphere and the ACUVUE® OASYS Multifocal, to determine which performs better in various situations. Individuals who frequently wear soft contact lenses and have vision prescriptions within a specific range may qualify. As an unphased trial, it offers participants the chance to contribute to valuable research that could enhance vision correction options for many.

If you are currently using any eye medications or have an eye infection, you cannot participate in the study. Also, if you have any allergies, diseases, or are taking medications that might interfere with wearing contact lenses, you may be excluded.

Previous studies have found ACUVUE OASYS 1-Day Sphere lenses to be generally well-tolerated by users. Some individuals have reported minor issues such as eye discomfort, stinging, or tearing. These lenses also block harmful UV rays, helping to protect the eyes.

ACUVUE OASYS Multifocal lenses are considered safe, though some users might experience mild irritation or itching. Rarely, more serious reactions, such as severe allergic reactions, have been reported, but these are uncommon.

Researchers are excited about these contact lenses because they aim to improve visual acuity using innovative filtering techniques. Unlike standard contact lenses that primarily correct vision through lens curvature, these lenses incorporate a series of filters with varying thicknesses (ranging from 1/4mm to 2mm) to enhance visual clarity. This novel approach could provide a more tailored vision correction experience, potentially reducing eye strain and improving overall comfort for the wearer. This trial will evaluate the effectiveness of ACUVUE OASYS 1-Day Sphere and ACUVUE OASYS Multifocal contact lenses. Studies have shown that ACUVUE OASYS 1-Day contact lenses provide clear and comfortable vision, with 91% of users reporting consistently clear vision, especially when using digital devices. Additionally, 62% of patients preferred these lenses for overall vision clarity.
