What is the purpose of this trial?

The purpose of this study is to learn whether following an online weight loss program with specific dietary and exercise goals (the 30-30-30 plan) can help improve weight loss and other markers of health when compared to an online weight loss program on its own.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

This trial is for adults aged 18-69 who want to lose weight, have a BMI between 27 and 45, are generally healthy, can walk a quarter mile unaided, speak English fluently, own a smartphone with internet access, and are willing to follow an online program for six months. People with certain health conditions or recent major weight loss can't join.

Inclusion Criteria

I want to lose weight.
Individual must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing in English
Individual has a BMI ≥27.0 and ≤45.0 kg/m2

Exclusion Criteria

I cannot walk a quarter mile on my own without stopping.
Individual has a laboratory test result of clinical significance based on the judgment of the Principal Investigator or qualified designee
Individual has self-reported or clinically diagnosed bipolar disorder, psychosis, or severe depression

Timeline for a Trial Participant

Screening

Participants are screened for eligibility to participate in the trial

2-4 weeks

Treatment

Participants follow an online weight loss program with specific dietary and exercise goals (30-30-30 plan) or a standard program

24 weeks

Follow-up

Participants are monitored for safety and effectiveness after treatment

Trial Overview

The study compares two online weight loss programs: one group follows the '30-30-30' plan focusing on higher protein and fiber intake plus exercise goals; the other group uses a standard online program. Participants are randomly assigned to each group.
