Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

This trial is for people living with dementia and their family caregivers who are willing to participate together. Specific inclusion or exclusion criteria were not listed, but both the person with dementia and their care partner must be able to join as a pair.

Inclusion Criteria

Care partner or person living with dementia (PLWD) reporting current or past (8-12 months) dissatisfaction with relationship score of 3 or less on relationship satisfaction measure
Care partner self-identifies as primary care partner
Care partner must reside with patient

Exclusion Criteria

Patient with hearing impairment defined as inability to hear normal speaking voice at 1.5 feet
Patient with planned transition to residential or institutional care setting in less than 3 months
Patient currently enrolled in interventional clinical trial for PLWD aimed to improve relationship quality

Trial Overview

The study is testing whether a structured music-based activity done by both the person with dementia and their caregiver is practical and acceptable, compared to a reminiscence (memory-sharing) activity.
