What You Need to Know Before You Apply

What is the purpose of this trial?

The aim of the present study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a milk permeate-based sports drink on hydration, carbohydrate oxidation, exercise performance, vigilance, and reaction time in the heat. We anticipate that the milk permeate, with 44 g per liter and high sodium and potassium, will lead to better hydration, energy delivery, and physical and cognitive performance.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

This trial is for healthy adults who regularly cycle and want to participate in exercise studies. People with health issues or conditions that could affect hydration, performance, or safety are not eligible.

What Are the Treatments Tested in This Trial?

Trial Overview

Researchers are comparing different drinks—plain water, a milk permeate sports drink (with high carbs and electrolytes), a standard 6% sports drink, and a low-carb milk permeate drink—to see how they affect hydration, energy use, cycling ability, alertness, and reaction time in hot conditions.
