What You Need to Know Before You Apply

What is the purpose of this trial?

This study will evaluate whether specialized tests of airway inflammation and lung abnormalities can better predict asthma remission and relapse than standard clinical assessments in adults with severe asthma who are starting biologic therapy. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either standard asthma care or a comprehensive management approach guided by specialized biomarker results. Participants will be followed for 12 months and will undergo assessments including questionnaires, lung function testing, blood collection, sputum analysis, CT imaging, and MRI imaging. The results of this study may help improve the prediction of asthma outcomes and support more personalized treatment strategies for patients with severe asthma.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

This trial is for adults with severe asthma who are about to start biologic therapy. Participants should not have other major health issues that could interfere with the study.

Inclusion Criteria

Women of childbearing potential must agree to use a highly effective form of birth control from enrollment through study duration and X weeks after last dose with negative urine pregnancy tests at Visit 1 and Visit 5
Provision of written, informed consent prior to any study specific procedures
I have severe asthma that needs high-dose inhalers and still isn't well controlled.

Exclusion Criteria

Patients with incomplete medical records
Patients with implanted mechanically, electrically, or magnetically activated devices or any non-removable metal in their body including pacemakers, neurostimulators, biostimulators, insulin pumps, aneurysm clips, bioprosthesis, artificial limbs, metallic fragments, shunts, surgical staples, or ear implants (per MRI technologist discretion)
Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding

Trial Overview

The study compares two approaches: standard asthma care versus a personalized management plan based on specialized tests (biomarkers) of airway inflammation and lung changes. Participants are randomly assigned to one group and followed for 12 months.
