What You Need to Know Before You Apply

What is the purpose of this trial?

This study will evaluate a single-visit approach to hepatitis C treatment in patients seen in the emergency department. Participants with hepatitis C will receive rapid testing and, if eligible, hepatitis C medication before leaving the emergency department. The study will also use a smart pillbox, an AI-powered virtual agent, and community health worker support to help participants take their medication as prescribed. Participants will have follow-up visits and testing to assess medication adherence and whether the hepatitis C infection is cured.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

This trial is for people diagnosed with hepatitis C who visit the emergency department. Participants must be eligible to start treatment right away and able to use support tools like a smart pillbox and virtual assistant.

Inclusion Criteria

I am being discharged from the emergency department or observation unit.
I am between 22 and 65 years old and am getting antibody testing in the Emergency Department.

Exclusion Criteria

Followed by hospice or transplant with life expectancy < 1 year
I am unable to understand or agree to participate in this study.
